Three Sentence Movie Reviews: Mysterious Skin

This was hard to watch in that it has to do with child molestation which–it probably need not be said–is not a fun topic.  However, the acting was tremendous and I loved how true-to-life the teenagers’ friendship felt.  Worth watching, but have something fun on hand for cleansing purposes.

  1. Omigosh, this movie is killer. It broke my heart. I don't know if I could ever watch it again. You are correct, though: tremendous acting.

  2. I'm the same way, there are just some movies I won't see, either because of content or because I don't want to waste my time. I was listening to an old Filmspotting podcast and they were featuring Kubrick movies and talking about 2001: A Space Odyssey and I briefly considered re-watching, but no, I found it profoundly boring the first time and there was no way I was going to see it a second. As for the Shining and most all other horror films, won't do it.
