Three sentence movie reviews: Inside Llewyn Davis

Boy howdy did I love this movie, as I knew I would from the first preview.  I think the movie’s strength lies in Oscar Isaac’s performance* which makes me care about a guy whose jerky choices make him perhaps not the best person to care about.  And if you have any small like of good harmonies and folk music, you should watch this movie just for the soundtrack alone.

Cost: free from library
Where watched: at home.

*I have loved him in everything I’ve ever seen him in. (10 Years, Drive, Ex Machinina)

  1. I’ve been wanting to see this, mostly because it features Oscar Isaac, who I loved in Ex Machina. I keep thinking I’ve seen him in something else, but I guess I’ve only seen him in previews for other things. He’s in a lot of stuff coming up! I guess his star is starting to rise (yay!).

    1. I agree, both on the yay about his star rising and the wanting to see him in things. He really takes over the screen. He’s in 10 Year, that movie I keep going on and on about, and takes over his scenes in that. And a bit part in Drive, but same deal. I hated Drive, though. Like really loathed it.

  2. This was nominated for an Oscar or two, right? How fun that it had a great soundtrack, too. Maybe it was up for a song/music nomination.

    1. Much to a lot people’s disgust this was only nominated for cinematography and sound mixing. I would have thrown a best actor nomination at least, if not director and picture. (Especially considering that Birdman won. And you know how I feel about Birdman.)
