    1. It was exhausting. I hadn’t really realized how much of a cult of personality thing I had cultivated over the years. Since it was my job to stand at the door during drop off and pick up, it was me who saw nearly every family the most. So a lot of people said kind things to me and wished me well. This was very nice. And also I would have preferred to write a nice goodbye and disappear without any fanfare. I’m not a fan of goodbyes, even if I’m the one leaving. The week leaving and the weekend after were kind of just emotionally exhausting. But I guess that’s better than my previous job where I couldn’t stand them and they tolerated me.
