Sara’s cat was in his final days and she stepped away to give him some time on his own. This was the last postcard she wrote before finding out the surprise wedding.

The back of the postcard says: California’s rugged North Coast.

Sara adds: Where? Not sure. It’s a big coast.

I checked the website listed on the back, but it’s no longer functional.

Sara reports that she is getting her task goals ready/laid out and that she gets to go back to her office today.

I enjoy this for two reasons. I like puns, so this is very fun. And it reminds me of my college friend who said, “you go, girl” enough that her mother thought it would be a fun surprise to get a personalized license plate that said that.

Sara reports that she is thrilled to hear of my Seaside trip and that she is trying to add summer fun to her remaining summer weekends.

The thing I love about this postcard is that Sara and I have the exact same reaction. Ugh!

Sara says: A quick hello from the last of the slightly dud message postcards. It’s just that easy—wake up with purpose!

I’ll get right on that, postcard. I apparently just haven’t been waking up with purpose.

Sara asks if I have seen this film. She says, “I heard Pop Culture Happy Hour discuss it. Sounded both good and rather not for me.”

And the Rather Good But Not For Me category is where I have it slotted too. So I haven’t seen it.

Sara reports that she is avoiding her summer to-do list, but must press through today.

Also that she’s been calling in for jury duty since 6/21 (she wrote this on 6/29) and they keep instructing her to call back tomorrow at 5 p.m.

From the back of the postcard: Hillside cemeteries and historic churches combine with Victorian architecture in Ferndale.

As photos go, this is not the best I’ve seen. The cemetery looks mostly empty and the buildings are framed in a way that makes them look hodgepodge. I’m sure it all looks much better up close.

Sara said that they popped into a little shop that had local organic eggs. Apparently the Instagram of the egg producers is a delight. I was not able to locate this delightful Instagram, but perhaps Sara will chime in at a later date.

This is postcard 1 of 3 of the coffee trilogy, which means I’m missing one. Happily, I have received 1 and 2 in the lineup, so can read two-thirds of the message.

Sara reports that they are home from Napa (see previous postcard) and stopped at this coffee roaster because finding good coffee or tea is a challenge in their area, but this is a good place.

Sara also reports she potentially has jury duty this week. We shall see if she gets called.

Sara writes that the Napa Valley is lovely (and also hot, dry, and a bit fire-damaged.)

She notes among other activities, they are bringing back wine that she hopes to enjoy with me when I visit them.

Sara found this in a shop that hasn’t been open much during the pandemic. She wonders if the postcard still smells of the incense that was in the shop. I can say that it does, but not overly so.
