My mom went on a Road Scholar tour of Louisiana and sent me this postcard. She reports that she still has not eaten crawfish and has no plans to. She also particularly enjoyed the Cajun village they visited. I can also tell you that it was still hot and humid there, even on the 10th of October.
Very fun! We went to a crawfish feed here, when we were part of a dinner pop-up program. Honestly, they were not my favorite. I tried them with a mostly open mind, and even sucked the head, as is part of the deal. They were just too labor intensive for my liking.
I feel similarly about grapefruit. It takes so long to eat them, I’m hungry again by the time I’m finished. Grapefruit are not gross though, like crawfish are.
I went with Dan and some friends of ours to a crawfish dinner once. I didn’t have any crawfish, however, due to my aversion to all things fish-y. He and our friends loved it, though.
