Postcard from Norway

At least I think it’s from Norway.  Check in the comments, after Sara reads, there will be a yea or a nay posted to that query.

This is from Sara and is funny on many levels.  One: naked hiker.  Two: Sara picking it out and actually purchasing it from the clerk.  Three: oh, I’ll just let Sara tell it.
“How could I not send this to you!  You know I was embarrassed to purchase it and had a funny interaction with the Eastern European clerk.  The other funny thing is that this was just one of the almost ten version s of odd nudity in the woods/fjord/skiing, etc.  I hope you got a laugh.”

Yep-per.  I did indeed.

Pike Schemes found some good postcards.

I sent postcards when I was in Boise, but Pike Schemes found theirs in a different location than I did.  Two arrived today.

Get it?

(Um, in retrospect, you might not get it if you are not familiar with the touchy nature the natives of Idaho’s capital city feel about the pronunciation of their city name.   But for those of us in the know, it’s funny.)

Signs!

I love that the Boise Rescue Mission has a neon sign.  It’s one of the things I never found odd while living there, but seems strange now.

Postcards from Russia and WDC

I love the simple line drawing on this postcard.  David sent me a portion of Charles Bukowski’s poem “Consummation of Grief” which is striking and which I have fallen in love with. Thanks David.

This came from one half of my favorite blog: Pike Schemes.  We will see each other very soon and she is as excited as I am.  Because there’s nothing like a little trans-continental postcard communication when a face-to-face meeting in the hometown is imminent, though still seeming to be very far away.  Thanks Sara!

She apparently also was cleaning out her stamp collection.
