Sara reports that her mom and Aunt Nancy visited, which led to the procurement of this postcard. All involved enjoyed a rainy walk through the Lady Bird Johnson Grove.

Subtitle: someone really needs some glasses. Sorry for the blurry photo.

Sara writes from the last weekend of summer. She and Shawn visited Willow Creek for Big Foot Daze. There was a parade!

Sara reports that they tried local wine and walked the beach and ate wonderful tacos and torta.
She also points out that there are couple of distilleries in the area that we could visit when I come for an extended visit.
This is not the loveliest of postcards, but the message on the back was most welcome.

Sara sent me another preview of August coming attractions.
I bought this same postcard when we visited, so you can also say it’s a preview of coming postcards.
She wonders if any of these things are on our list. I can say, in a preview of coming blog posts, that we visited at least three of these sites.
Heather writes she and her family saw a lot of Lincoln things in Springfield. Sounds like a memorable, and moving, trip.

Sara sends a preview of our upcoming vacation to Northern California. This card was made by a local illustrator.

This is Sara’s last postcard sent from Minneapolis. (Yet it arrived after the Wall Drug postcard sent from the road?) There were lots of bittersweet feelings, which were also felt by me because I loved their house.

And with a p.s.: We are sending this from Blue Earth—the home of the Jolly Green Giant!”
SKS is on the move! At Wall Drug, she and Shawn bought iced cake donuts and a few postcards. She sent me this postcard because they enjoyed seeing the signs on the way.

I like its pinked edges. Very unusual in a postcard.
I’ve not been to Wall Drug. My parents and brother went after they dropped me off at college, but I missed out.
Someday, I’m going to do some exploring along the northern border. It can be part of my Laura Ingalls Wilder tour.
Hark! It’s a three-series of SKS postcards that all arrived on the same day. The. Same. Day. A miracle!
The back of this postcard is pre-printed with “I’m part of the #WomensMarch movement. I’m from… and I’m concerned about,”
Sara has written in ALL THE DAMN THINGS!
This caused me to chuckle.

The next postcard is from the restaurant I ate at when visiting in May for Sara’s dissertation. Sara reports that it’s a major moving prep day.

She also comments that Twilight-inspired academic texts really amuse her.

Me too, Sara.

Sara thought I would enjoy this Two Harbors postcard. She was correct. Isn’t it pretty?

She reports that the Skiff House was just like a tiny house. It looks very fun in the photo on the website.
This one arrived a little worse for wear, but according to what Sara wrote on the back, it was already that way when she got it.
It’s from a restaurant in Minneapolis.

Sara writes that they ate at Herbies before seeing Pentatonx, and also that she can’t believe they are moving in three weeks.
Bonus SKS content. What her letters look like when they arrive in the mail. Plus, new stickers with the PhD!
