Postcards from Hawaii and Seattle

Back when I was doing Postcrossing.com, I would have five or six postcards out.  My return postcards usually came in clumps of at least two, sometimes three. It felt like there was a special area of the post office where the postcards congregated, before joining together for the last part of the journey.

The same thing happened with these postcards, one from my Aunt, one from my friend.

Aunt Pat reports in from Hawaii.   Apparently my Aunt Carol bought a large amount of papaya in the Hilo market.  Also the Kona winds kicked in and the vog lifted.

You know Jan from her regular comments.  She sent me this postcard from a Yves Saint Laurent exhibit she saw at the Seattle Art museum. This is an amazing dress.  Thanks Jan!

From Jan, who thought I might find it funny.  I did.  There was audible laughter when I pulled it out of the mailbox.

Astute readers will notice that the postcards of late have been arriving from friends, not from Postcrossing people.  I’ve fallen off the Postcrossing horse.  It hasn’t been determined  yet if I will get back on, or if Postcrossing will be yet another unfortunate casualty of the return to the 40-hour work week.

Postcards from Hood River, Oregon & Portland, Oregon

This marvelous ad card arrived from Hood River, where Laurie (you might know her from the Cosmic Tripster post) and the Valaries were doing a training.  It’s an ad card full of stickers!  I’ve never seen such a thing.IMG_5610

This came from my mother, who was sending me some paperwork for me to mail.  I suspect she must have found this while visiting stores when he friend Linda was in town.  I’m familiar with this artist and have sent her postcards to Postcrossers, so it was fun to see it arrive in my mailbox.IMG_5611
